First National Scientific Conference in Katowice: “Present and the Future of Psychometry”

University of Silesia is pleased to invite you to the First National Scientific Conference -“Present and the Future of Psychometry” which is the first meeting of the series: “Katowice Psychometric Meetings”. The conference is organized by the Institute of Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Scientific Information Centre and Academic Library in Katowice. The planned date of the conference is 7-8 October 2015.

Conference will address topics related to important aspects of modern psychometrics: psychological tests and their practical application in the fields of education, business, and the labor market; design and adaptation of psychological tests using advanced statistical methods; the benefits and risks of testing using a computer and the Internet; teaching psychometrics in the framework of psychological studies and other additional forms of education of those responsible for the use of tests.

Eminent specialists in the field of psychology, psychometrics theory and methodology of psychological research, and psychologists-practitioners are planned to give their talks on above issues.

The conference will be held with lectures and poster sessions, including plenary session and panel discussion with the participation of specialists. Psychology practitioners using psychometric tests in their daily work are also invited to participate in the conference.
